Now there is a limit of characters in title tag which is 55 characters. If you use more than 55 characters in your title tag. Google will strip extra characters and will replace it by. “…” (3 dots).

Instead you can use it like this:

Try to put the brand name at the end, but make sure you can wrap it up in 55 characters.

You can use different title and heading in your blog posts. If you are in WordPress, you can use plugins like WordPress SEO by Yoast and All in One SEO Pack to do this.

2. Rich Snippets

Among all the latest changes in search engines, rich snippets has become one of the prominent factor for SEO all as getting more click through rates. It provides search engines additional information to understand your content and provide the best results for the users.

Now for users they tend to stand out from the rest with additional information such as star ratings, total number of reviews.

3. URL Structure

From the beginning URLs have been one of the most debatable area. From URL directory structure, to underscores vs dashes or even keywords in URL – there have been a lot of discussions. So the question remains does URL parameters helps in SEO?

5. Optimize Images

This is another important factor for ranking a web page higher in search engines is optimizing your images properly. Which starts with naming an image, followed by alt tag. The image name should be descriptive rather than some arbitrary number such as “wexcv42343.jpg”

Lets consider you are writing an article about “Blue Widgets”. And if you are using an image describing types of blue widgets then you should consider making it “types-of-blue-widgets.jpg”. Try to put your keywords in the image name here as well as alt tags. So in this case the alt tag can be alt=”Different types of blue widgets”.
